Warm water with lemon juice

I am very lucky because loads of people around me have excess lemons.  At first I felt a bit overwhelmed by them all… What should I do with them… I wouldn’t say I’m much of a citrus lover.  And then I remembered – I should start having a glass of warm water with lemon juice first thing in the morning.  It seems like the “thing to do” when you read enough healthy eating blogs and I did try this a few years ago when I did a 7 day detox.  I thought it was great then – so why not have another go?

It’s been about 2 weeks since I started and I have already reaped the benefits.  First of all my stomach is much flatter than it was a week ago.  I remember this helpful benefit from a few years ago.  Another positive is that although my skin is far from perfect at the moment it has definitely started to clear up.  Probably the best thing has been my increased immunity.  It feels like everyone else around me has a cold but I managed to escape with a couple of days of tiredness without full blown sickness coming on.

I recommend giving this a try for a month.  Put the juice of half a lemon into a mug of warm water and drink.  Do this first thing every morning.  Try and use the 5 minutes as a quiet time for yourself.  The ritual of having this time to yourself is worth it and that’s besides all the health benefits.  Have a go and see what you think!
