I once bought a new cream blush and the sales assistant asked me if I was looking for that “just exercised” look.  I said yes (although I was thinking about the way I wish I looked rather than the reality).  This smoothie is very close to how my cheeks really look when I’ve finished.  But if doing a hard workout means getting to drink this AND having the pink cheeks then I say “hell yeah!” (BTW I have just finished exercising so I’m probably still high on endorphins.  Please forgive me my “hell yeah”…)

Cheeks Smoothie

Match Your Cheeks Smoothie

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

1 cup of almond milk

2 tablespoons of coconut flakes

1 tablespoon of almond or peanut butter

1 tablespoon of yogurt

1/2 a frozen banana

1/2 cup of frozen raspberries

a sprinkle of cinnamon and vanilla powder

1 teaspoon of maca powder

1 tablespoon of rice syrup*

water to thin if required

Blend for about 2 minutes. Scream “hell yeah!”**

*A quick word on rice syrup – they are now selling it in the health food section at Coles.  And it’s really competively priced.  I’m not usually one to recommend the major supermarkets but if it means you will try rice syrup as a sweetener instead of honey (and especially sugar) then I am very happy!
