I’ve been blogging for about 2 years now and so far I am pretty sure I’ve managed to avoid wordplays and rhymes in my subject lines (correct me if I’m wrong…)  But, I love blueberries so much that I felt they should be celebrated with an eye catching title!

So, why do I love blueberries so much?  Well to start with they are yummy.  I tasted fresh blueberries for the first time when I was well into my 30’s and I wondered why I hadn’t been eating them all my life (the answer would be… they aren’t cheap).  Imagine my delight when I discovered that since it’s now blueberry season, my boss has a weekly delivery of fresh, local berries.  I realised I had to get on the bandwagon.

There are many reasons to love blueberries besides the taste.  They are nutritional powerhouses.  Berries are packed with Vitamin C and fibre plus they contain good doses of potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus.  The bright blue colour signifies high levels of antioxidants which minimise the effects of ageing, boost brainpower and memory and preserve eyesight.  They also contain B, E and A vitamins.  Plus they are low in calories.  Actually… I’m going to eat some now!
