So, I’m back on the smoothies for breakfast.

You know the saying, “everything in moderation”? Well, my body has decided that it is no longer friends with dairy… I think. And that is probably because I’ve been indulging in yoghurt every day. For breakfast. And for lunch. Oh, and for dessert. I keep getting very bloated (like 4 months pregnant bloated) and I am fairly convinced its my penchant for yoghurt that’s done me in. So, I needed to make a change. No more dairy (for now).

My latest smoothie is a non-dairy concoction made with almond milk which keeps the creamy consistency that I love so much in my yoghurt. But, as with all smoothies I pack it in with other goodies – vegan, sugar free protein powder, mixed frozen berries, spinach and seeds. It seriously keeps me full until lunchtime (or until 2pm if needed – like today!) Try one for yourself.

Yummy Yoghurt-free Smoothie

Ice
Large handful of frozen mixed berries
2 large handfuls of spinach
300-400ml almond milk
1 serve vanilla protein powder
1 heaped tablespoon of flaxseeds
1 tablespoon of pepitas
1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Method: Place all in a blender and blend for two minutes.
